spaces where we could use more liminality

DATE OF ENTRY: 2-6-25

This is running list of the places in our lives and societies where we could use a bit more liminality in our approach.

  • belief systems in around personal and group identities

  • politics

  • work day design

  • any effort to change either individually or organizationally

  • finding a hobby

  • how we educate our youth

  • how we hire and fire

  • in marketing more honestly

  • the role between business and government

  • people paying into the systems they use (and abuse?)

  • health / healthcare

  • removing unnecessary entities within systems (siphoners)

  • empathy

  • reducing the blame game

  • less belief in tech being the fix-all for everything

    more to come…

Joe Callender

Hello! I'm Joe from New Jersey.

My imagery challenges the conventions, norms, and constraints we place on our belief systems and decision-making through a personal dedication to exploring liminality through the concept of the Beginner’s Mindset.

An expert mind sees few possibilities; the Beginner’s Mindset remains open to many possibilities.

My approach and imagery celebrates the role of liminality, not only as the primary means for creating contemplative or visually arresting art but also as a deeper lesson about the role of liminality for change and transformation.
